John Nick Mackave
January 2, 1933 - December 1, 2010

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found peace at the close of the day"
Such a short time ago it seems John was entertaining us at our June Pot-Luck. In spite of the serious health challenges he was facing he came out to join us and share his talents, playing his guitar and singing.
We will miss seeing him walking up Rosewood Lane, sitting at the top and surveying the construction progress around Grandview, we used to stop on our walks to chat with him.
John left his mark as a miner, a millworker, an outdoorsman and most of all a musician-composer passing his love of music and talents to his sons.
