At times it feels as if this project has an energy of its own -- certainly, it is an idea whose time has come. Every day there are more inquiries from people interested in what is happening, and more and more wonderful people join our ranks. Hang on tight, it's going to be a great ride.
There have been several new members join since our last General Meeting in October and more of our residential lots have sold. In fact there is a concern that, perhaps, we should put a 'lid' on the sale of these lots for the time being.
The Life Lease Agreement and the Disclosure Statement are being finalized
The General Meeting on November 19th covered a lot of important material on which the membership was required to vote. The Life Lease Agreement and Disclosure Statement were two of those items. We also discussed cost and time estimates for the work on the infrastructure to begin. In addition, we finalized the plans for construction of the buildings so that they can be sent out for tender. Please read this information in the Minutes from this meeting.
The Second Pick was a success
On November 4th, the second group of units were selected. There was an inch or so of snow on the land, making the road up rather slippery, so our President provided a taxi service, with her Jeep, taking participants up to the site. The selection went well with the remainder of the duplexes being spoken for, and some members opting for townhouses. Everyone seemed delighted with their choice.
Photos from that day are online here in the Photo Gallery.
Halloween Mystery!
Several of our members went up to the Site Office on Halloween and sat around a bonfire in order to greet any 'trick or treaters' who might show up. Lots of 'tall tales' were shared, and several photos were taken -- the last picture is very interesting!! Have a look in the Photo Gallery!
Directors Meeting with John O'Fee, Solicitor
On October 27th, the Board of Directors met with our Solicitor, John O'Fee, in Kamloops. He was more than happy with the progress that has been made with the project and would like to come over and meet the group. He is in the process of putting together drafts of the Life Lease Agreement and the Disclosure Statement which are required for registration with the government.
There is important information in the Minutes of this meeting.
The Site Office has been built
The Site Office has been completed, and what a great job has been done. Many thanks to the numerous volunteers who helped with the construction. And many thanks also, to Peter Kiewit and Sons for the materials.
There are photos of the construction process from start to finish in the Photo Gallery.
On October 17th, the Rotary Club was taken on a tour of the project site and heard of our plans for the area. They were very impressed and want to be kept informed of our progress.

Committee News
It has been suggested that a Clubhouse/Recreational/Meeting area be constructed for residents who move into their units next year. What are your thoughts? Let Elmer or someone on the Building Committee? know.
The Care Committee is continuing with its investigations of different ways to provide effective care for our members. And also, how such a Care Facility could best be operated and managed. They would love to hear from you if you have some ideas to share.
