Annual Halloween Bonfire
A message from Elmer to all members
The Fire Chief, Gerry Rempel, agrees that a bonfire at the future Grandview Manor site, on Friday, October 31, 2008 "could be fun, so go ahead."
The Promotions Committee agrees and asked me to send out this bulletin:

- Some people may have pickups and chainsaws and so should come out about 5:00 P.M. and look at some of the areas where we have bush piled and cut up some firewood.
- The bonfire will be across from the Site Office so that those who need to get warmer can go into the office and watch through the windows.
- Alto says that the scrap lumber in their bins is fine to reload to the bonfire location.
- Fire will start about 6:00 P.M.
- Those of us who are treating little Ghosts and Goblins can come out after they stop coming or about 8:00 P.M.
- The entrance to the site will be 43rd Street gate (Cyril can you make sure that it stays open ?)
- We will stay until we burn up the available fuel or about 9:00 P.M.
- Bring warm refreshments of your choice.
- Bring your smile!
- It may be raining (the forecast) so dress warmly with a slicker.
- Bring your singing voice as the Grandview Heights Choir is expected to perform.
- If you also play (instrument that is) and the weather permits, bring that along too.
- Watch yourself as Nora will have her camera and will be looking for that "Grandview Spirit" that was photographed in 2006.
Let's get into the spirit................!
See you then!

New Section: Elmer's Updates
A new section of the website has been created for Elmer's Project Updates, with a link in the sidebar on the left, right under the "What's New" link. Please keep checking this section as work on construction proceeds, since it will become an important way for Elmer to let members know what's happening and what he needs from us.

- Any remaining site based on the "Pecking Order" (your membership number)
- Construction sequence will still start at Bungalow B18 and proceed West to 16th Avenue South along Calamida Lane and
- from Duplex D26 and South West along Grandview Drive
- Other choices will only be built when selections reach that point
- $40,000 deposit will still be required to secure your spot
- The cost of the unit will be slightly higher than previously quoted and will be confirmed to those interested in this opportunity
