Change of Hours for Site Office Opening

Because of the shorter and cooler days, we have changed the hours when volunteers will be manning the Site Office, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM to 12:00(Noon) - 3:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays.  It is felt that this will enable people to view the Site during their lunch hour, and in particular, during daylight hours.  It must be kept in mind that this is a construction site, and people must use due caution when near any of the operating equipment.  There are safety vests and hard hats available in the Site Office if anyone needs to go near any of the construction area.  Those who are volunteering at the Site Office are to be commended for the time and energy needed to 'man' this office.  Thanks to all of you.

September 22nd Information Meeting for the Grandview Heights Care Centre

A central theme of the Grandview Heights project has been the development of a Care Centre for the use of both cooperative members and local residents.  To this end members have been in the process of gathering information from both members and local residents, by means of a questionnaire, in order to establish the need and the type of care such a facility should provide.  They have also visited various Care facilities, both within the immediate area, and also in more distant communities.  As noted below, a group went to Edmonton in May, in order to view a Care facility there, which is being operated on a Life Lease basis, as is proposed for our own Care Centre.  Those of us who went on this trip were most impressed with, not only the structure itself, but, more importantly, with the quality of service which was being offered.  The residents were all happy and well cared for, and the staff were all very capable and happy with the care they were providing.

At this upcoming meeting we will be privileged to have a member of the team who helped organize and set up several of these Care homes in Edmonton.  She will be presenting an overview of the Centres under her jurisdiction, and will be open for questions following her talk.  Our Care Committee has also been holding meetings with our local politicians and members of the IHA and trust that several of them will also be in attendance.

This is an opportunity for those of you concerned about Senior's Care in this area to hear of a viable solution to those concerns.  This is an opportunity for you to ask your questions, and to take part in the planning of care for your future.  Don't miss this opportunity.

Make sure you are there -- help make it happen.
