Think of this sandbox as your wiki playground, to experiment with the Text Formatting Rules.  Just click the "Edit Page" link at the top of the page and add whatever you like at the bottom of the edit box, after these examples. You can also see the markup for the following text, when you open the edit box.

Highlight text and use the buttons above the edit box to format it. Then click on "Preview" above the edit box to see how it looks.

Headers:

level 1

level 2 (first button)

level 3 (second button)

level 4 (third button)

level 5
level 6

The next set of buttons, after the line is for text formatting within a page:
bold text     italics     underlined     crossed out     bigger text     smaller text     superscript     subscript

There are no buttons for this: blue text     green text    red text   yellow text purple text

To indent text:

if a paragraph, the whole paragraph will be indented... if two paragraphs, the arrow needs to be in front of each paragraph.

To create bullet lists

  • Blah
    • sub-blah
      • sub-sub blah
  • blah again

To create numbered lists: (these are tricky, since blank lines or coloured background will break the numbering system, making it go back to number 1. There is a way to override this, but that's another lesson.

  1. first point
  2. second point
    1. sub-point
      1. sub-sub-point
  3. third point
