Important Meeting with Life Leaseholders
There will be a meeting at the Carpenter's Hall for all Life Leaseholders, on Saturday, May 26. The meeting will begin at 9:00 am, and we suggest you bring a lunch. This meeting will be held with members of the Building Committee and it is hoped that Life Leaseholders can come to some sort of agreement on what the unit of their choice will consist of.
In particular they will decide on the type of exterior they desire (from a selection of choices), and what options they want for the interior. They will be given a list of the options that are available, within the established contract price, and also, those that will be available at their own additional cost.
Also, at this meeting, they will be given the payment schedule which they will be expected to adhere to once construction has begun on their unit. Both the payment schedule, and the various lists of options are detailed here for your perusal prior to the Saturday meeting. Please review these and bring any questions you might have to that meeting.
Trip to Edmonton Planned?
On May 1,2 & 3, a bus has been chartered to take a group of interested individuals (members and, hopefully many non-members from the area), to Edmonton in order to view some care units based on a life lease arrangement. A Neighbour's Request
Re: Myron Bevans Property along the West side of 14th Avenue and Grandview Heights
Many people access Grandview Heights from the North (Emerald Green) on foot and firstly walk on Myron Bevan's property until they can access the Grandview Heights property. He will be erecting signage on his property discouraging this method of access for possible liability to him from someone getting hurt on his property.
Now that 14th Avenue has been cleared to the boundary of Bel's property, it may be better to try and walk along the future 14th Avenue Right of Way. Bruce has graded 43rd Street and it has a great driving and walking surface now and perhaps, this access should be followed if possible. Bruce has a deal with Trowelex with a construction access through his property and this can be an alternative.
Until we establish the actual route of 14th Avenue through Emerald Green, we would be trespassing there for now. To make sure we continue with good relationships with our neighbors, let's respect their private property in the interim.
The Care Committee Needs Help
The Care Committee is putting some materials together to try and assess the need for the multi-level Care Facility, and get names of potential new members who would like to live in it. This building is the centre-piece of our development and probably the most important building. A part of gathering this data is presence at shopping centres and other locations, to distribute information and get people to complete questionnaires.
If you can spare a few hours over the next month or so to be at a table to help with this project please email Janice Johnson or phone 365-3456. Please help. The Care Committee does not have enough people on it to do this work.
The Fourth Pick Deadline is March 31st
Members who will be choosing their homes:
- Nick Rebalkin has a pick of a Townhouses (O/S from Pick #2)
- Bill Cheveldave has a choice pick (O/S from Pick #2)
- Ed Chernoff and Jon Van Vliet have a choice pick (O/S from Pick #3)
There are at least five (5) members who are ready from Pick #4 for the remaining units. Qualify by making loan of $30,000 and advising by midnight March 31, 2007.

New Site Pictures
March 17, 2007: New pictures of the site have been posted in the gallery. They were taken on March 9th, after the land was cleared. The progress is amazing!
