Last August  2005, as we were reading the Castlegar News paper, my husband and I found an article that gave the perfect solution to our lives.

It was an article about The Kootenay Columbia Senior Housing Cooperative. It told about a project that was under consideration by a group of local people wanting to make a difference in senior living, not a place to go and die but a place to go and "LIVE." It showed a concept of the site with housing made up of bungalows, duplexes, apartments and foremost a CARE FACILITY to serve the needs of some of the aging population, as we know what the situation is with health care these days.

It spoke of recreation, a wine cellar, hair salon and woodworking shop, and perhaps transportation to town. So my husband and I jumped on board and have become members and have made our down payment into the project. This is truly a fine idea and if most people thought about it, they would see it as a way out from the work load of keeping up their present homes and yards. We want to relax more and enjoy life with friends and neighbours in a beautiful work reduced setting. I hope others will get as excited as we are.
