Elmer Verigin, Project Manager, and his wife, Marilyn,
at the building site of their new home
In September 2006 the first members of Grandview Heights posed with a large smile as they chose the building site for their future home. They eloquently expressed their hopes and enthusiasm for the years ahead.
They have much in common, they share the same zest for life, appreciation for the beauty of the site, a positive attitude toward each other and boundless creative energy.
Their testimonials spoke of their vision for aging together in place, providing for their changing needs.
The Spring of 2009 saw the first residents moving in and by fall, with more members joining them, all the houses were occupied. Through the work and expanding project the Cooperative is discovering its personality. The enthusiasm did not wane - everyone is contributing their talents and energy.
We now have a community that is alive, caring and generous, ready to welcome new neighbours with new talents into our expanding family.
